Christian historian, Jeff Stacey, calls the 1902 Illawarra Revival, “One of the most amazing revivals in Australian Christian History.” Rev W. G. Taylor, the renowned founder of the Wesley Central Mission said “I have never known a revival of religion like unto this!

What God has done before here in Australia He can do again. Luke 1:37 says, “Nothing is impossible with God.” The Bible and human His-Story is full of stories of Gods miraculous intervention in direct response to prayer. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

See the full story: Illawarra Revival 1902

Over a period of a few months, in early 1902, through a period of concerted prayer and evangelism 15% of the Illawarra’s populace came to Christ. If we saw 15% of Australia’s population experience the new birth that would equate today with 3,750,000 people coming to Christ. That means the church you are part of would triple in size.

If your church numbered a 100 it would triple in number to 300. If your church was 1,000 before this revival period, it would triple in number to 3,000.

Psalm 110:3 says; “Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power;”

God wants to move, it is up to us to pray and act.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

If you have been following the news you will know we need to pray and promote concerted united prayer for our nation like never before. Only God can save and heal our nation. This is why we invite you to contact your friends in your area and register to run a National Day of Prayer and Fasting combined church prayer event between 10AM – 4PM on Saturday 10 February 2018 in your region. REGISTER HERE!

This 6-hour period of prayer allows for a much broader participation in prayer from individuals, worship teams, different churches, and church leaders in every region. Quite simply this means that more people can participate on the day. People can come for part of the day or come for the whole day.

The National Day of Prayer and Fasting will be followed by a 40 Day Prayer Relay starting on Ash Wednesday, 14 February to Sunday 25 March 2018.

This united time of prayer and evangelism is occurring over the same period as Lent, so we can link with our brothers and sisters in Christ from other churches.

We would love your help with this if you are able.

Our vision for the National Day of Prayer and Fasting is to link the various events through webcast all over Australia. This will allow all of us to be together from all over Australia from Perth to Sydney, Darwin to Adelaide and Cairns to Hobart.

Our overarching prayer on this day of prayer is for revival and transformation for our nation and for great multitudes to find Christ. We urgently need to see a move of God. Only God can save our nation!

We are praying for indigenous Christian leaders to be honoured in the place of prayer. We are also praying in particular for a new generation of young prayer warriors and young evangelists to arise.

The theme for 2018 is found in 1 Corinthians 2:2 “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified” Our aim is to glorify JESUS and promote the sharing of the gospel.

We pray that our friends and family members will find Jesus and that we will all be emboldened to share the Gospel, and that all our churches will thrive and grow.

You can participate in the following ways but we do have a deadline to meet;

  • Participate as an individual through prayer and receiving updates and attend a local prayer event on Saturday 10 February 2018. Register at
  • Help by coordinating a regional inter-church collaboration for the National Day of Prayer & Fasting in your area from 10AM – 4PM Saturday 10 February 2018. REGISTER HERE!

We would greatly appreciate if you could pass this invitation on to other prayer leaders and churches in your region and beyond. Great things happen when we work together in unity to reach our communities and friends for Christ. Much greater things happen when we add prayer to the mix.

Together we can make a difference!
