National Day of Prayer and Fasting

This is our ten-year celebration. The 2021 Church leaders video Promo encapsulates the theme. Indigenous Christian leaders will play a huge part in the day. The theme for 2021 is “Awake to Christ.” The scriptural theme is found in Ephesians 5:14, “Wake up sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you”. There is great power in unified prayer. Psalm 133 says “When brethren dwell together in unity… there the Lord commands a blessing even life for evermore”. We also want to continue to pray for the coronavirus and those affected. The purpose of the National Day of Prayer & Fasting is Revival and Transformation for Australia, for churches to grow and for millions of people to find the love of the Father.
- Adoration, Worship, Thanksgiving & Repentance
The first session begins by saying the Lord’s Prayer together, Matt 6:9-18. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 “We enter his gates with Thanksgiving”, Psalm 100:4. We also ask you to honour Indigenous leaders. Ask them to be part of the day if possible: Romans 12:10. Pray for the persecuted, Hebrews13:3, Pray a blessing over Jerusalem and Israel. Psalm 122:6 Let us also begin the day in personal repentance as this is also a National Day of Repentance. Then progress on to the broader issues.
- Pray for the Coronavirus + Thanks for Rain + End of Bushfires + Thanks for Great Harvest
Last year we prayed for an end to the drought and the fires. We saw dramatic answers to prayer in both cases. We have seen above average rainfall across the whole nation. Let us give thanks for the rain and the second-best wheat harvest ever. Last year we prayed for the Coronavirus. So far, our death rate is 36 times lower than the USA and 43 times lower than the UK. Let us give thanks that Australia has been spared the worst of this disease. Let us continue to pray for the abatement of the Coronavirus in our nation and healing for those affected. - Pray for Families
Families are the foundation for our nation and the church. God is a family God, and He is not willing that “any should perish”. Ephesians 3:14,15 “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.” Pray for a release of the Elijah message in our nation and the restoration of Fatherhood. Luke: 1:7. Pray for an overflow of the love of our Father in Heaven to bring healing and restoration for families. Pray for marriages and better relations between men and women. Key Scriptures: Ephesians 3:15, Malachi 4:6, Psalm 68:5, Deuteronomy 22:5, Matt 19:4.
- Pray for Leaders – Church, Community & Government
We pray for each of the leaders and those in authority in our nation in all the seven spheres. Included in our guide is a list of all the Federal Parliamentarians so that you can pray for them by name. Pray also for your State MPs and Local Council Leaders. Pray for our governmental and civic leaders. We will also pray for local and regional church leaders, including those key church leaders listed in the Prayer Guide. Pray for young Godly leaders to arise in the church and in all facets of society. Please use this resource info. Key scriptures: 1 Timothy 2:2, Colossians 1:9-14; Ephesians 3:14-21; Isaiah 11:2-3.
- Official Prayer Service + Giving Thanks & Praying for an Awakening
We invite you to take part in the Official Prayer Service from 2PM – 3:30PM (AEDT) as part of the National Zoom Prayer Call in which we will have prayers and input from Key National Leaders and Church Leaders. Romans 15:16, “Then all of you can join together with one voice.” Pray for an Awakening Ephesians 5:14, “Wake up sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you”.
- Declaration that we as Individuals, Church & Nation will Awake to Christ
Hebrews 1:3, “The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command”. We are praying for Australians to awake to Christ and receive a deep revelation of the Glory of God who is JESUS CHRIST. Celebrate Communion and ask the people to pray for one another and confess their faults to one another We are praying for millions to find Christ. Pray for the success of Go21 in May.
